Portraits. Part I

Posted by Alina on November 15, 2015 at 6:50 AM Comments comments (0)

Although I love my DSLR camera it differs significantly from the SLR one. The shots taken with the latter are so much more dramatic. But still, sometimes it's not about the equipment you use, but the atmosphere, faces and gestures you're lucky enough to capture. Here we go: bright and happy Barcelona, misterious Tivoli and Moscow hidden in the dark. Portraits Pt. II is coming and gonna be all about my film SLR works.

Is it all yours?

Isn't he wonderful? I'm so happy he's made a video for this song. The visual as well as the music, which I've already heard on his new incredible album 'Passion World' ( it deserves a Grammy for sure), resonates with me significantly.

Raw Materials of Light and Time

I'm light/shade dependent, need contrasts, using mostly 135 and obviously way too demanding. And the weather is consistently grey. And the grey means no contrast.

I'm using every single tool/accessory/ interior design element  I have at hand in an attempt to do something decent. Once I had a photoshoot and brought a basket  full of stuff, which I'd grabbed from my appartment prior to that, including: a lamp, a mirror, a chessboard with chess, 4 pairs of beads, a notebook and crayons.

That was a good day.

Noir

This world is oververbalized. Every once in a while I recall  the 'Tranks' movie, based on a true story of  Robyn Davidson who trekked across the Australian desert with no one else but  four camels and a dog. She didn't like to talk. Let's face the fact: it is not such a difficut task to stay silent in a desert, although the survival there is tough for sure and that was risky of  Ms. Davidson to choose this way of proving her agoraphobia.

In the city you can do whatever you want with or without being noticed, communtcating or not.  It is perfectly fine to be agoraphobic in the city. You can easily get lost in your thoughts and dreams, music, vibes, but your Ego won't let you go far enough to have true peace.

The contemplation above has nothing to do with the following pics. There are black and white shots of my friends. And this is my way of meditation.

Something Bright

Just checking my memory. It's been a while, it's been too long. But i guess i've matured, understand this world and have a better reason to post the pics of cakes and tables now.

Bright Colors

This fall is gorgeous, full of colors, smells, great cozy atmosphere everythere. The colors are even brighter in the rain and the palette is extremely rich. There's no room for a shade of sad mood,  come rain or come shine :)

Windows are on a constant, no day-off watch. They are witnessing so much more than we do.  We can  touch the outside reality for a second through them... or stay for another hour just to make sure little miracles happen every minute. And without a doubt, they do!
